Associate Professor Carolyn Lundquist

Carolyn is a Principal Scientist in Marine Ecology at NIWA in Hamilton, and also has a joint appointment as Associate Professor within the Institute of Marine Sciences at The University of Auckland.

Carolyn brings expertise in the larval dispersal and connectivity processes of marine animals, examining how connectivity influences ecosystem health and functioning, and can be used to inform marine spatial planning.

Carolyn leads a project on decision-support tools for managing cumulative effects in Phase 2 of the Sustainable Seas National Science Challenge and brings her expertise in applied marine ecology to He Hono Moana to contribute to the success of the Moana Project.
